Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records through laws such as G.S. 132-1 and G.S. 7A-109. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file. In Stokes County, the Clerk of Superior Court keeps court files, dockets, estates, divorce judgments, and certified court copies. The Register of Deeds handles marriage licenses and local vital-record copies. The Sheriff manages jail and public-safety records, while statewide tools such as the NC eCourts Portal and NC Vital Records cover separate parts of the records process.

- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
